NATIVITY IN BLACK : SABBRA CADABRA

When you think about death do you lose your breath or do you keep your cool ?

Would you like to see the pope on the end of a rope , do you think he.s a fool ?

Black Sabbath,s music stirs images of either kitsch maccabre or heavy metal perfection , depending on which side of the fence the listener,s sitting. For more than 25 years , Sabbath has sat on the metal throne as an inspiration for bands of the genre it almost single handedly created.

Sabbra Cadabra is a complete celebration of Sabbath , its music and stage show. In keeping the smallest detail in mind , this tribute band is recreating the energy , the sound and the look of Ozzy Osbourne - era Sabbath , down to the platform shoes and buckskin frayed shirt of lead singer Joe Donnelly to the Orange amplifier stack used by guitarist Dan Toto , who.s a dead ringer for Tony Iommi . The group is rounded out with bassist Jeff Mott  who stands in for Geezer Butler and Bill Ward - like drummer Tom Capobianco.

The re - enactment is almost eerie . At a recent show at Shooters in Fairless Hills Pa. , Sabbra Cadabra played to a packed house of Sabbath fans, blasting some of the classics at them as well as some of the more obscure rockers. In true Ozzy style , Donnelly prances the stage shouting , "We love you all , " waiving a peace sign in both hands or clapping at face level to the beat of a song. Its the Sabbath experience to the " T " from Donnellys high pitched vocals to Toto,s balls- to -the-wall guitar sound.

Based in central New Jersey , Sabbra Cadabra tours the East Coast throughout the year . Shooters has been the primary spot the band plays in this area , but it looks as though some new rooms should be opening up to the Sabbath tribute band soon .
